The Bridge Trust in Tonbridge approached NetVector in April 2020 following a recommendation by West Kent YMCA as their current IT provider was retiring. As a charitable organisation providing services to the homeless, Bridge Trust must make the most of a limited IT budget, but still needs reliable IT support and secure systems.
NetVector carried out a review and the major risk point was an extremely old server with failing hardware on site. We were able to replace this economically with a 2nd user sourced server under warranty on a low monthly rental and also upgrade the existing PC’s with SSD drives and Windows 10 to bring the platform up-to-date – coupled with charity priced Office 365 for email and apps. We have also supplied 2nd user laptops and improved the remote connectivity to allow home working.
The Bridge Trust is a great example of how systems can be improved without spending large amounts of money and via our remote support agreement is able to access high quality IT support, leaving the following feedback from the chief executive:
“We have one member of staff who is, shall we say, extremely non-IT minded. Both Nathan and this morning James have dealt with her, and she phoned me specifically to say how brilliant they were and to thank them for all their (patient) help. She does not suffer fools gladly so that is high praise indeed.”
